How to change the social image of your store

When you share a link to your store on a social network (e.g. Facebook) or send it to somebody over instant messaging (e.g. WhatsApp), a preview image of the store is usually shown next to the link.

The default social image for your store looks like this:

Changing this image to something more congruent with your niche will help your links stand out when you share them.

You can change this image by going to "Design -> Theme Settings" in your store's admin area. Click on the "Images" tab and the image is called "Default Social Image".

We recommend an image size of 1200px wide and 630px tall. After changing your image, test it on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc. to see how it looks in different places.

Changing an Article's Social Image

You can change the social image for an individual article. This allows you to have a unique image for each article in your store.

Go to edit the article in your store admin area, and select the images tab. The image to change is called "Social Image".

Clearing the Social Image cache on Facebook

If you have already shared a link from your store on Facebook, they will have cached the image and other data.

You can see the cached data for any link to your store using the following tool:

https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

Enter your store link on the tool above, and if it is showing an older Social Image you can click "Fetch Again" to clear the Facebook cache.
