Categories - Feature Guide
Having Categories and Subcategories is a great way to organise your store. It makes your store's navigation easier, thus improving user experience and conversions.
In this article, we will discuss how to create and manage categories and subcategories.
Creating Categories
From your store's dashboard, click on Your Store >> Categories.
The next page will give you two options: Create a category manually (green button) or via AI (orange button).
Manually Creating Categories
Choosing the green button will populate the fields where you can enter the details needed for your new category. You can also use the AI button next to each field to automatically create the content.
Once done, you can either click on "Create" or "Create & create another" to proceed to the next category you want to add.
Creating Categories with AI
Choosing the Build Categories (orange) button will redirect you to the AI Category builder.
Enter your store's niche and let AI populate suggestions for you. You can edit it before you confirm. Please take note that you can use a double "-" to specify sub-subcategories.
Subcategories
Manual Subcategory Builder
Creating subcategories looks the same as creating categories. The only difference would be in the settings tab, where you have to specify the Parent Category.
You can also add a subcategory by opening any Category. Scroll to the bottom, and you will see the Subcategories tab. Just click on the Create New Subcategory button and complete the prompts.
You can also attach an existing subcategory from this page by clicking on Attach a Subcategory.
AI Subcategory Builder
Building subcategories with AI is easier because it's already included when you choose the AI Category builder (orange button) when you are about to create Categories.
Enabling/Disabling Categories
You can enable or disable the categories or subcategories by going to the Settings tab and clicking on the radio button to the right.
Adding/Removing Products
There is more than one way to put products in your categories. It can be by attaching them within the Category Settings, attaching them via the Products page, or during upload while using the AI Offer Importer.
Attaching within the Category
From the Categories page, scroll down to the bottom three tabs named Subcategories, Products, and Activity Log. Choose the Products tab and click on Attach.
A pop-up will open, where you can search for the product that you want to add to that category.
Once you have chosen your product, click on either Attach or Attach & Attach another.
Attaching from the Products Page
The problem with the attachment from the Category page is that you need to know the product name you want to attach. If you want to take a look at the products first and then decide which category you want to put them in or move/interchange them, then these next instructions are for you.
From your store's Dashboard, go to Your Store >> Products
On the Products page, you can determine if a product has already been added/attached to a category by having a one or above counter on the Categories tab.
The Categories button can be clicked to sort out the products from lowest to highest or vice versa, and the number of categories they are attached to
To attach it to a category, you can click on edit product, scroll down to the bottom portion, click on the Categories tab, and click on Attach.
Tick the check box on the left side, click on the option above, and choose attach to a category.
Attaching from the AI Offer Importer
When using the AI Offer Importer, the fields include the Category where you want the product you'll search to be added should you decide to add it to your store.
Listing Image
Categories have an image that shows on the homepage and other pages, called the "Listing Image".
Your store will automatically choose an image from the products you have added/attached to it, but you can change this if you want to.
To change the image, go to Edit Category and choose the Image tab.
